Puppy Application

Thanks for considering one of our sweet baby cocker spaniels.  In the
hopes to reach our goal of placing the best puppy possible in your home
and the best home for our puppy, we have added an application to help
you tell us about your home and plans for the puppy.

Please copy this page or just send us the answers to our questions in an
email sent to:
sbgcockerkids@aol.com

1.  Your Name, complete address, email address, and phone number
including area code and web site  address if you have one.

2.  Please tell us your story, why you are looking for a puppy and
your plans for that puppy.  Have you had a cocker spaniel before and
know they are high maintenance dogs that require regular grooming?
If not, do you need further information and instructions?

3.  Do you have children (ages?) and pets (#) now?  Do you have a
fenced in play yard for the puppy?  Is someone home during the day
to continue with puppy's training?  How many hours will the puppy
be in a crate while you're gone.

4.  Do you have a preference to the sex, color and size  of the puppy?
Are you looking for an energetic puppy or a more quiet laid back sort
of pup?

5.  These pups are AKC registered and offered with limited
applications.  That means they must be spayed/neutered by six
months...cannot be bred or shown.  Full registration that allows these
activities is offered rarely, but can be available to the right home.
Which situation are you applying for?

6.  Our babies are placed strictly as inside pets.  Do you understand
that and agree?  They are raised inside and underfoot.  Outside play is
supervised and contained in a safe fenced in area just off our deck.

7.  We will need 3 references. Please include in this list...  the person's
name, their relationship to you, and their phone number including
area code.  One may be yourVet.  We will need his name and phone
number as well and his permission to be called.  Your reference may
send us an email.

8.  Please tell us where/how you heard about us.

We have wonderful references that are more than eager to share their
love stories about their new puppies.  Our babies are healthy, used to
being on a grooming table, well socialized with children, new adults
and dogs of all sizes.  Please feel free to ask any questions about
Philip and I and the way we live and love our cockers.  We do not
give our babies to the first fist full of dollars that knock on our doors.
We care deeply about each one and will keep them right here with us
until that perfect home arrives to take them home to love forever.

We might have a higher price for our adoption fee, but we find it
barely covers the quality of care, food, vet attention and training that
each and every puppy receives at SBG.   A cocker requires more
money to keep them beautiful and healthy.  The price is fair and we
think attracts a home with the means to keep our cockers in the
manner they are due.  Full registration price is $1,200.  Limited
registration price...$850... a price that is discounted to allow for the
cost of one year's vet care and to have the puppy spayed or neutered.
Males/Females are the same price.  We have spent a lot of time and
money producing the best cockers possible.  To carelessly allow any
backyard breeder to take our puppy and ruin our good name....well,
that just not going to happen.

We sincerely hope this will help you to decide if you really want one
of our cockers and will give us a better opportunity to realize yours is
the home we hope for when placing our pups.

                                   Thank you.
